March is usually the month that I am always rushing to get over with. Here in Atlanta, we get the random warm & cold days, not to mention all the rain. This always does a number on my skin & my mood, as my body always struggles to adjust. All I want is sunshine & longer days- is that too much to ask for? This year, was a little different though. March has really shown off the brighter side, which has made me make a few early shifts to my skincare routine.
Usually around April-May, I begin introducing facial mists, lighter moisturizers, and deep cleansing. I do this for three reasons. First off, I need a quick and easy way to refresh my skin midday, as it tends to dry out. Secondly, I like to focus on replenishing my skin’s natural barrier to keep it protected from natural stressors. Finally, I routinely deep cleanse my skin once a week to refresh my pores of buildup from sweat, oils… and wearing a mask.
Below, I have listed the exact products that are sitting pretty on my vanity as we speak, as well as on my wishlist. I have even included some everyday products for a routine that you can stick with year-round to keep things simple & consistent. Because your skin LOVES consistency. Finally, everything in my edit is either clean, sustainable, cruelty-free, or non-toxic.
My Skin Type: I have combination skin that is slightly reactive. So, I stray away from products with alcohols, fragrances, essential oils, and mineral oils. This is rather good news because that means most products will be suitable for oily, dry, sensitive, & combination skin types. Just remember, with any new product, always do a patch test.
